Showing some of my walking skills. I don't pull & tug, but I do like to have a little resistance on the leash so that I know I am close to Dad when we are out and about. Today he said my name and I actually listened and stopped. Major stride for only the third day don't ya think.. I am getting it slowly.. I do love my walks and checking things out around the neighborhood. Hopefully Mom/Dad will take me to the bigger doggy park soon so I can run off some energy too and see how I do there as far as socialization, listening, etc.
Took me another nice walk today, no triggers around at all, just my natural curiosity and exercise today. Look how good I walk on the leash, I have purpose, I am focused, and just love taking my short strolls around the neighborhood. Dad tries to get me out at least a couple times a day for our short walk, approx. 1/2 mile around the area each time.. Soon he is going to take my to a larger play area and let me off leash so I can run around and release some energy. So looking forward to a day at the doggie park, I know I will have to mind my manners some, but we need to learn from each other..
Mom/Dad got me a new harness for walking, its not to bad I guess. I wasn't to sure about it the first time I wore it, but I am use to it now, and I know when dad grabs it I am going for a walk..Its a lightweight safety orange mesh with padding and a reflective border for night visability.
I walk nice and calm and as soon as dad puts any pressure on it I slow down or look at him now, looking for guidence and direction.
When I am done with my walk I sit so nicely awaiating my treat.. I am a happy boy!
