💙 Day- # II

Coming out of his shell a little bit today. Seems more relaxed and at ease in the house and yard, went for a couple walks in the neighborhood and is getting comfortable with neighborhood sounds, visuals, etc.

Doesn't seem to be reactive to people and other animals that we have seen so far. He has caught glimpses of a few different birds a squirrel, a couple dogs and a few people walking around  he does like to sound off a little to the neighbors little dog, I think it's a chihuahua mix of sorts. He's not agressive toward it at all, just likes to let him know he is out and can see him..lol. He is getting the hang of the sit command and a visual cue, still doesn't recognize his name. Hoping he does after repeated usage and association.

It was great to see him actually have a spurt of playfulness today, 'cause up till now it was all just kisses, following around and snoozing..Would like to see him get more active and playful over the next couple days, we shall see..

💙 Night #1

Brock was/is such an easy made pooch for sure. At first hesitant but now extremely comfortable in daily routine of the household. Lastnight he hesitated at first to enter the bedroom area, but once he figured out he was allowed, he made himself comfy and climbed right up on the bed, snuggled in and stayed right there until I awoke around 12:30 pm to use the restroom, and of course, he had to be on my heals so he followed suit, then proceeded to climb right back in again. Figured due to his size he would be a bed hog, but he was well behaved and took up minimal space and slept like he hadnt been that easy in a long time.

Still loves his car rides and is very aware of his limitations in the car. He settles in, will put his head on the shoulder of any passenger and occasionally will just pop up and throw you a kiss saying thank you for the ride..Today he got his first bathing experience here at home. Most dogs I know, or have had experience with other than Scarlet hates bathtime. He finally was coaxed into the shower stall, but once there he took it like a champ. Figured he wouldn't win any battle anyway so he just stood there accepting the fact he was gunna get bathed regardless. Had to rid some of that kennel smell he had been tagging along with him. Still doesn't smell like roses and prob. never will, but at least its tolerable now and not as pungent as before.

He is so easy to deal with, have only heard him get vocal two or three times and its a very short warning one or two barks, just to say I am here and see you..  then he quets right down and just observes. He loves to listen and observe everything going on around him,  He has the sweetest personality and has the best temperment. Other than not knowing or recognizing his name, he still needs some basic skills like sit, stay, no, down, etc. Hopefully in time he will recognize his name and if all else fails the adopting facility has offered classes on a weekly basis to help get him over those hurdles.

All in all, I think we both got lucky, apparently we were comfortable enough and gladly accepted one another as friends and that bond should only get stronger as we go on. He is such a good boy, just need a little guidence and lots of love..of which we are willing to provide hands down.

Sheriff's dept. forwarded his paperwork via email today as well, so now we have his health records as best they know them, his mirochip number and facility that monitors it, we are working on setting up a perminant vet, and health insurance should they be needed, we want the best for this guy.

💙 Newest Family Member

 I was Acquired today 06/27/2025

he was a return to the shelter for whatever reason.. It's beyond my understanding as to why someone would go through the trouble of rescuing a dog, then giving up on them...he is so gentle and a big baby... if you adopt or plan to adopt.. be SURE you are in it for life..

It is so unfair to the animals to get their expectations and hopes up, and then just shatter them all over again... Rest assured, he is HOME now forever !!

This is Brock Lee.. Taking his freedom ride. We adopted him from (Brevard County Sheriff's Office) BCSO/PetCo rescue. He is 3 -3 1/2 years old and a snuggle bug. Likes to be right on your heals and be part of what ever is going on. Wasn't going to have another dog, but just couldn't resist his reactions to me when I approached him for the first time. He's a handsome dude, well behaved and somewhat chill at least so far.

So far he has moved right in, made himself comfy and enjoyed lovin's and treats.. Been exposed to the dogs next door and across the pond, by the birds, our daughter and son in law, and all is great. Have nly heard him bark once at the heighbors dog more so because I think they surprised him..lol. He's had a big day today and is currently passed out on a chair cushion on the back porch with us. We'll see how he does tonight come bed time.. He is still a little skiddish when it comes to entering the bedroom area and stands at the door with a real inquisitive look on his face., as if to ask can I come in or no way, not happening..but where he has to be right on your heals, I'm sure he will adjust and feel more comfortable in entering the room.

💙 Intro

Hi there, my name is Brockton, aka Brock. I dont recognize my name as yet due to I was a rescue pup and placed with the BCSO and the SPCA in Brevard County, Florida.

Apparently my previous owners had some sort of issues with me and I was either surrendered or was one of the many that turned to the streets as a stray. I don't know why 'cause I am the bestest and most well behaved little guy around.

I was adopted once before and was returned for whatever reason after only three days.. I don't understand why nobody wants my love and campanionship as much as I do theirs. I am sweet, well mannered, loveable, playful, and will keep you protected should the need arise. I may be on the smaller size of some of my companions, but I have a streak in me that I hope I never have to show.

I am learning my basic commands, mainly because I didn't have anyone care enough to teach me and let me learn to be the bestest pup around. I am eager to please, willing to learn, and well lets face it.. I am the total package in a dog that someone will love.

I am glad and very happy to announce that I have again been adopted after that nasty surrender I just went through. My new family has accepted me the way I am and is willing to take the time needed to better myself and my life.

Follow along on my new life journey with susbscribing to this blog. Stay up to date on my progress and the loving I give to them and the loving I get in return. Its going to be an exciting and fulfilling life, I just know it is.. We are off to a great start.

Feel free to stop on by anytime and leave me some encouraging words, messages and some love, I'll soak it all up and be a better pup for it.. Thanks for stopping by, best wishes Brock..
